With a modern maximalist viewpoint and a host of florals, she created a whimsical tea party in a palette of bright spring hues. A long table set with our enchanting Felicity chairs defined the playful mood, highlighting a bold mix of patterns using fabrics and wall coverings from Schumacher and chandeliers and sconces by Circa Lighting. Fans lined up to get a signed copy of Summer’s first book, *Wonderland: Adventures in Decorating*, published in March 2022, just in time for High Point’s Spring Market. We hosted a fantastic party in our High Point showroom with Veranda magazine to celebrate the occasion, complete with a signature cocktail inspired by Summer’s design. | | --- | --- | - [![Summer Thornton brought a fresh perspective to Bernhardt’s iconic furnishings during her turn as our Spring 2022 Designer in Residence.](https://blog.bernhardt.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Bernhardt%20Curated/Happenings/Designer%20In%20Residence%20Summer%20Thornton/bernhardt_spring2022_dir_lobby_left_08_web-1-1-1-1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=bernhardt_spring2022_dir_lobby_left_08_web-1-1-1-1.webp) Hover message](https://blog.bernhardt.com/hs-fs/hubfs/Bernhardt%20Curated/Happenings/Designer%20In%20Residence%20Summer%20Thornton/bernhardt_spring2022_dir_lobby_left_08_web-1-1-1-1.webp?width=1200&length=1200&name=bernhardt_spring2022_dir_lobby_left_08_web-1-1-1-1.webp) -
