Aug 15 2024 [Inspiration](https://blog.bernhardt.com/tag/inspiration) | [Design Notes](https://blog.bernhardt.com/tag/design-notes) ![Bernhardt Sereno Dining Room.](https://blog.bernhardt.com/hubfs/Sereno%20Dining%20Room1.jpg) The dining room is experiencing a renaissance in home design. After several years of serving as a home office, a homework station, or a bonus space, dining rooms are once again hosting meals for families and friends. Here are six things to consider as you rework your dining space with style. ---     ![Bernhardt Cornelia Dining Table.](https://blog.bernhardt.com/hubfs/BFC%20-%20Output%20auto.jpg)   Shape it up. The shape of your dining table is key. Round tables allow everyone to see each other and be a part of the conversation, but longer rectangular tables allow you to add leaves and more seats. The shape and dimensions of your dining room are important, too – you don’t want your table to overwhelm the space. Think about how you entertain and which shape works best for your lifestyle. Our Cornelia dining table offers a subtle elegance, and it can expand from round to an oval shape with the addition of a leaf. Even though it’s a functional space, your dining room should always make a statement. Look for tables that have sculptural bases for an artistic touch. Or dining sets with inlaid metals or stone accents, or even a mix of finishes. Bernhardt’s Aventura dining table has concave resin pedestals in a light Tusk finish, with a top in the warm Marcona finish. Family dinners and holiday celebrations require all the gorgeous china and serveware. That means stylish storage is key for a dining room. Buffets and credenzas should have adjustable shelves, drawers and specialty details like felt lined inserts to store and protect your silverware. Bernhardt knows how to expertly mix beauty and functionality, like in its Sereno buffet, with silver travertine fronts that open to showcase storage. The best dinner parties are when the guests want to linger. Be sure to offer a comfortable seat so they’ll stay to enjoy the company and the food. Upholstered seats provide a soft perch, especially with a textural fabric. The Tribeca arm chair has a slipcovered look that not only gives you a relaxed comfort, but also hides the casters that allow the chairs to glide to and from the table.   Featured Products: [![Tribeca Dining Table](https://blog.bernhardt.com/hubfs/photo-output-Aug-27-2024-01-54-06-9991-PM-1-1.jpeg)](https://www.bernhardt.com/shop/K2007?position=-1) Bernhardt | Tribeca ## Tribeca Dining Table A modern textural statement shapes a beautiful dining table design.
